The next week we were confronted by a very experienced senior side from Beeston Ladies, way above our grade, and we held them till half time to 0-1 down. Our centre midfield rock Caroline played a storming game in holding back the incoming tide, but had to leave at half-time for family reasons and at full time, we went down 1-5.
Had it not been for Elizabeth’s sequence of wonderful saves in goal, we might well have been 0-20 down, so in a sense it was a very good performance against a very much stronger side.
South Notts never gave up. Not for a minute.
