On a cold winters day the mighty 2s arrived at Boots early enough to get frost bite!! After a brief discussion on DOD (I’ll get to that shortly) we started a warm up and prepared to play the chemists in their back yard. The game started with south knocking hard on the door... an inspirational substitution brought yours truly into the fold... after a great aerial ball from Harry Lane, I fired a shot that ended up back with Harry who hit a bouncing reserve stick shot that I helped in 1-0 Laney’s back!!! A few mins later, I managed to double the lead with more good team play and a bit of luck (goal keeper error). So half time 0-2 to us!! The team talk was “strong.... control and time, control and time....” well that went out the window!! Within seconds of the restart Harry fired a hard pass into Elliot Dixon Elliot controlled and held, before passing to me 1-1 with the keeps... Goal! They started, Harry won the ball, played me in.... I aimed far post to Elliot ... miss hit it and scored at the near post I suppose it was just a good day, I’m sure it won’t last!! Leon Pinkney and will Brydon were like cliff faces in defence, Sam Lane once again pulled off some big saves, one that Will owes Sam a pint or two for!! Young Sam Clough had a few really positive runs and continues to get better! Mikey has a couple of chances that the keeper managed to stop.... Garry Pickering and Craig Lawson locked out their right and created great interchanges of passing in attack.... all round a great team win!!! Oh DOD.... Elliot , WHITE SOCKS AWAY FROM HOME OLD BOY!!!!
