Match Report | 16-2-19 snhc 2’s vs Derwent 4’s With a change in personnel, injury worries, Andy Wallace in goal and Ellz playing right back, South would likely have to dig deep to stay on top of this game. As with any other game, South went behind to a well worked goal within the first minutes of the game. That seemed to be what was needed to wake us up though and from there we went about looking for an equaliser. With some good passing and excellent pace, we were soon attacking their goal with a few chances passing us by. Finally, having learned a trick or two from Grozzy last week, Jon played a ball into the keeper (on purpose he says...) only for the keeper to fail to clear it and for Jon to follow up with putting the ball in the back of the goal. 1-1 We continued to press for the remainder of the first half and had the majority of the chances, but we were unable to finish any of them. Derwent came out stronger in the second half and South started to look a little disorganised. Derwent had almost nothing in the final quarter of the pitch with the defence doing a solid job of keeping them out of our D. We continued to press but lacked the final pass and despite a few more chances, their defence held strong and the game finished 1-1. |
