Men's 1st XI Vs Derby 1

The Mens 1’s entertained Derby in the first league game of the season and both teams would see a familiar score line. In a cagey opening 15 minutes both teams created chances and arguably Derby had the better of the early exchanges. South did work their way into the game and following a couple of short corners, Brains worked it into the D and found the net via a Derby stick, 1-0 South at half time.

If we’re honest, South weren’t at the races after the restart. Quicker than Batty on a promise, we conceded a soft equaliser and were lucky to not fall behind after some poor Derby finishing.

The game rapidly opened up before Tom found the bottom corner with aplomb. Carlos (finally!) grabbed his first goal for the 1’s with a neat finish between the keepers legs and the game was closed out at 3-1 

Great result and start to the season lads ahead of a double header next week
