Match Report | South Nottingham 1s v Boots 3s After our astonishing win last week, South faced a Boots side who had turned us over at home earlier in the season. With a strong squad, we fancied returning the favour! South started the game frenetically and probably against the run of play, took the lead through a well converted short corner from Tom Crossland. Boots equalised soon after and this set the tone in what became an increasingly feisty game. South went ahead again through Nathan’s tap in only to be pegged back by a controversial penalty flick 2-2 at half time. After the break South went ahead yet again through Tom with his trademark “roll strong and strike” routine. Boots made it 3-3 and then South executed a slick short corner routine to take it to 4-3, Gaz Bland slotting under the keeper. From here it looked like hard work and running would see us to another win. However we were left frustrated by another short corner equaliser and had to settle for 4-4, a great point in the circumstances. Well played lads, plenty to go on with next week! |
