South Nottingham vs Nottingham

Having gone three games unbeaten South arrived at a balmy goosedale looking to extend this run further. A rather different side started due to Stuart deciding to have his stag do during hockey season. Shocking mate.

As has unfortunately been commonplace this season, South started frenetically and didn’t settle until 10 minutes in when the ball broke free in the Nottingham D. Ben lifted it over the keeper to leave Nathan with a tap in. 1-0.

If we’re honest we were not at the races for the rest of the first half and a better team would surely have capitalised on the numerous chances squandered by Nottingham. Nevertheless it was 1-0 at the break.

Following a half time chat where ‘keeping it simple’ was the main theme, South outplayed Nottingham in the second half. Gaz B added a second following smart interchange between Jon and Ben. Mikey then extended Souths lead following supreme skill from Matty getting into the D.

Souths dominance was shining through now and further goals were imminent. Gaz Rich quickly took a long corner to Ben who flung it into the D for the skipper to add his second. Nathan rounded off the scoring following a poor defensive pass to slot past the keeper as make it 5-0.

The rest of game showed Souths will to keep a clean sheet with some solid defensive work throughout the team. 5-0 the final score

This was not a vintage performance by any stretch, and emphasis on doing the basics right has to be the priority going into next week

A great effort and top win though lads in tough conditions and on a poor pitch, excellent work
