South Notts 3’s vs Mansfield 5’s

The mighty 3s started this game with an unknown formation to what they have been used to playing. However they soon started to adapt, as continuous link up play started to emerge, from defence to midfield and attack, there seem to be an outlet for the person on the ball. Constant pressure on the Mansfield defence resulted in a short corner for south notts, Andy wallace distributing to ken is always going to cause a problem for the oppisition, Ken Shapland recieved the ball took a shot which was saved by the keeper only for Paul Hollingsworth to react first and flick the ball in to the mansfield net 1-0 to south notts. The second goal came soon after with great linking up play between Toby Clough, Finn Collins & Paul, To be honest it was like watching Liverpool ( Future premier leauge champions  The play was fast, intense and one touch. Toby recieving the ball, quick pass to Paul who then did a one two with Finn to set up Ken for the second who casually slotted past the keeper 2-0. South notts continued the way they had started with great inter play Andy, Finn and Henry gilroy-Davis , sending the ball out to Hamza Adamjee, who fired a low cross in to the mansfield D for Toby to collect at the back post to score his first goal of the game 3-0 With this new formation mansfield rarely got in to south notts half, and with this constant pressure could have found themselves 4 goals down had Paul not struck the post from a quick turn and shot. So 3-0 it was at half time, and a great performance by everyone. Positive messages were had at the break and South notts continued as they ended the fist half, Ryhs playing one of his best games linking up well with Finn and Henry and Andy being as solid as ever. South notts 4th goal came from quick play with again one touch passing from Craig Lawson and Henry resulting in Toby getting his second goal with a neat reverse shot past the mansfield keeper. Mansfield had spells where they tried to attack, but with this new formation and both Graham Johnson and James knappet holding firm, very little was getting through, the few chances they did have were comfortably saved by Sam Lane .South notts were not finished yet, as continuous attacks paid off with Henry hitting a pin point through ball to Paul who shot first time past the keeper to get his second and his 11th of the season.
