Snhc 3’s vs Newark 3’s

Tony Ellis reports

Mighty 3's welcomed high flying Newark to Bingham. They are currently 2nd looking good for promotion.
The warm up largely took place huddled in the dug out as we waited for the sleet to pass over.
Good availability this week with 14, so 3 subs.
James Fildes made his debut in goal today.
Newark are a strong side and it showed with early pressure from the off.
South held on with a solid midfield James Duffy, Mark Roe and Andy Wallace provided the first line, backed up by Tony Ellis , Graham Johnson ,James Knappet ( solid)in defence ( not at same time...quality subbing techniques today) on the flanks, great work from Craig Lawson , Hamza Adamjee ( who was everywhere...excellent work rate) and
Arthur Dixon on the right ( superb again) Sam Clough also joined midfield and had a good game, breaking up the play and pushing forward. It was nice to see him linking up on a few occasions with Toby Clough ( brotherly ❤).
Toby did excellent in a difficult game. Did not give up, unlucky not to break through on goal only to be stopped by someone twice his size...good effort today Toby.
Ken Shapland and Paul Hollingsworth worked tireless up front relieving the pressure.
We were 2-0 down at half time. Score kept down by some quality stops by Dr Fildes.
Second half we continue to work hard, couple of shorts and unlucky not to get a goal.
They managed 2 more but a final respectable scoreline 0-4. This Newark team should be in the league above. I thought the effort today was outstanding from all. Well done
Thanks also to Sam Lane and Gaz Bland for umpiring
