Men's 1st XI - Match Report. 10 Oct 2020 v Derby (Ramgarhia). Win: 1-5

South travelled to Derby to play Ramgarhia today, we last played them 3 seasons ago so knew it would be a tough game, for a number of reason!!

South started well, moving the ball at pace, having some good linking play, sadly unable to break through and create many clear chances in the 1st half, but we defended well and kept the Ramgarhia out with no clear chances for them either.

1st half finished 0-0

At half time the plan was to keep working hard and the chances would come, to keep the challenges strong but fair, and keep the ball moving, also to keep playing our game what ever happened!

Sadly, we were cursed with a half time comment of “we have a really chances of a clean sheet!”

The 2nd half began, and a few minutes into the half a free hit was given to Ramgarhia just inside out the D, still wondering what for Ramgarhia capitalised and scored the 1st of the game, 1-0 Ramgarhia.

South quickly but the pressure on and got a Short, the initial shot was deflected to Gaz Bland, who slotted the ball home, 1-1.

South continued to add pressure and from a tight angle Gaz Bland got his 2nd of the game, 1-2.

We again kept the pressure up and a few more chances came and went, this was thanks to the hard work from the team, and great work from Sam Clough in the forward line!

Carlos then made a great individual effort across the D, slotting home from close quarters! 1-3 to South!

Ramgarhia couldn’t deal with the pace of our attack, and with Carlos breaking into the D from the right found Gaz Blands stick, who score a great deflection, floating into the opposite top corner, no chance for the GK! 1-4 South!

The pressure continued, and Tom Crossland popped up with a goal of his own, a credit to his hard work in midfield! 1-5 South

Final Score, Ramgarhia 1 South Nott’m 5!

Great work by all, and a good debut game for James Beedam, a recent transfer and great addition to the squad, also great work from Sam Clough, really earning his place in the team!
