Boots 4s v SNHC 2
Having seen the worst of the weather go we arrived at lady bay with hope that today was our day.... things started well, with a few decent attempts before they went 1-0 up, despite Tommy Hall’s best efforts to keep the ball out the net! We grew into the game, Mikey went 1 on 1 with their keeper after Tommy made another save and kicked the ball deep into their half..... sadly no goal, hence the DOD nominations for not getting Tommy an assist! Boots scrambled a “lucky” goal just before half time, Stevie P cleared but unfortunately (like often) the ball fell fairly for their forward who popped it in. 2-0 at halftime. The message was to keep working, protect the ball the ball better and find that final third pass.... for 30 mins we were the better side, we just couldn’t score (no one is mentioning the goal as it was clearly a pen corner!!) Finn, Rhys and Henry starred relentlessly chasing everything and Henry especially played with new confidence. But Boots put the game to bed with a breakaway goal with 2mins left on the clock!
If that’s our last game for a while, we all know we left nothing on the pitch!!!
