Match Report | Snhc 2 vs Loughborough carillon As the sun lights up SNHC pitch as we draw towards the end of season. Souths prepare to take on Loughborough Carrillon. A team known for their ability, however, Souths managed to hold this team up for a draw on their last meet. So optimistic players took the field of play. This was not the same team Souths faced earlier in the season and had a few of the fit youngsters missing, especially in the midfield and defence. Possession was going either way, but Carrilion begin to move the ball around the pitch as a pretty well drilled team using all the players at their disposal. Souths keeps being put under quite a bit of pressure, Carrilion manage to squeeze a few lucky shots. Which leads to a couple of goals after the first 7-10 minutes. Being pretty strongly held back by Souths defence with some good solid tackles, Carrilion struggle to get through but manage to get one more goal to end the half. Second half sees Souths really pushing and all putting in the work but still leaving a lot of open space in the middle of the park for the opposition to utilise and making it difficult to get the ball past their last line of defence. With what seems like the only goal scoring opportunity of the half. Alex manages to bobble a topped reverse shot past the keeper. 3-1. Again. Souths defence and keeps manage to hold a lot of attacking possession and Carrilion only manage to bag 1 goal in the 2nd half. Final result 4-1. A good result against a well drilled team. South really managed to pull together for the second half restricting Carrilion to just 1 goal. Next week we hit the pitch with the same intensity we ended this game. |
