Men's 1st XI Vs Beeston 6

First half started with both teams coming out playing end to end hockey, with South struggling to put the ball in Beeston's net. Strong defensive consistency from the south defence and some big saves from Mark Doney kept us at 0-0. Meanwhile up front Dan and Fin were practising for Disney on Ice. 

After a breakthrough in play, South get a good press going and were able to control the game with opportunity after opportunity. After winning a short, Tom C was able to get a flick slotted on left post giving us the 1-0 lead.

Second half saw us come out strong. We knew we needed to break down the defence with a strong press as they were prone to giving us the ball. Shortly after, Dan was able to find the back of the net after Alex slipped him the ball across the D.

The rest of the game played out as a defensive victory with a well earned clean sheet from Doney as M.o.M, keeping us in the game from the first whistle.
