Men's 1st XI Vs West Bridgford 3

SNHC 1’s vs West B 3’s 

South turned up to high flying West Bridgford side, looking to build from the positives at home to Barton. The first half started with South adjusting to a different pitch and lineup. West Bridgford had some strong early pressure resulting in a couple of early warning shots safely cleared away by Mark Doney. West Bridgford continued to probe down the left wing, with some strong defence play from Tom Fletcher and Henry GD keeping West Bridgford at bay. The pressure eventually gave in with West Bridgford scoring half way through the first period. This woke South up with Jim Ward playing some precise line slitting balls through to theHarry Beedham and Finn Collins. South’s attacked was steadily growing into the game with Harry, Finn and Dan Truman increasing the pressure on the West Bridgford goal. Half time arrived with South unfortunate not to break the resolute West Bridgford defence.

The second half started with an increase in South pressure. The midfield battle was starting to be won, Will Honey and Nathan Gerrard were taking control of the game allowing South to play more expansive balls around the pitch. Our defence was tested with a few excellent moves from West Bridgford; however, Jim Ward and Tom Fletcher stood resolute. The last 2 mins saw West Bridgford peg  back South into our D with a last minute winner meaning West Bridgford successfully take all 3 points. A tough loss for South who deserved something out of the game. Final result 2-0 West Bridgford.
