Men's 1st XI Vs Beeston 6

After being pushed around by a stacked uni team last week, once again this week, Beeston 6's had also brought a plentiful team to decrease the odds. We knew we needed to strike in the first half whilst we had the numbers.

We started the game aggressive, hunting the ball down and feeding it up  to our strikers, shortly after with some chemistry between Harry and Carlos opened up an opportunity for Harry giving us a crucial 1-0 lead.

A crucial goal from Daniel, slotted into the bottom left from the top of the D to take us up to a 2-0 lead before halftime. A valiant effort from Mark almost made it 3-0 just before half time. 

Coming into the second half we knew we needed to play smart, with the numbers Beeston came with fitness could easily lose us our lead. Strong passing, spatial awareness and efficient defending were all essential coming into this half.

An improvement from the first half and huge leap forward from last week the South side really came into shape in the second half. Strong passing at the back lead to further opportunities further upfield.

Once again with 22mins to spare some excellent movement upfield, Nathan secures our final goal concreting our victory. 

Closing the game 3-1

Special mention to the defence and Doney for some game changing short corner saves throughout the whole game. They were as important as the goals scored to secure the victory.
