Match Report | A cold day in Bingham saw South Nottm 1s against West Bridgford 3s, a match to see who would place above one another in the league. The game began with South pressing there back line constantly, looking for a mistake to happen. South had the run of play from the first whistle until finally a pass from Nathan G to Dan R saw him running into the box for a quick square ball to Fin C to put it past the immobile keeper’s bottom corner. West Bridgford were not happy to concede an early goaland kept pushing at the south defence but not managing to get a goal any time due to the solid back line - with the exception of Will, of course. Eventually the WB striker managed to scuff a goal in with the controversy of using his body to block our defenders, making the game 1-1. WB were keen to get another before half time but the constant pressure defensively and attacking from Arthur and Henry with Will’s and Jim’s tackling made it clear South weren’t giving up. With the second half beginning South came out quickly, constantly winning possession then winning it back once lost. Some good link up between our midfield of Nathan, Tom and Sam caused the Prickish WB midfield many issues with Matt Taylor 2.0 not knowing what to do. Ben R’s and Dan R’s hold up play for our wingers of Dan, Gaz and Fin was exceptional with the wingers putting the full backs on their behinds. Unfortunately a short spell came in which WB managed to get a couple lucky goals. The Final score ended up 4-1 to WB with some fortunate goals. Maybe South didn’t deserve to win but the work rate was there. We go again next week to get 3 points on the board. MOM: Mark for me - he made some amazing saves throughout the game keeping us in it. |
