Match Report | 5-4 loss It was a bad day at the office for south today as they welcomed bottom of the league to a cold bleak Bingham. From the warm up south started on the back foot with all looking very lethargic for the second to last game before the Christmas break. The game started at a very slow pace with no team really taking hold of any position and as what only can be described as a game of hot potato commenced. After south started stringing a few passes together loughborough got a short corner against the run of play which saw Tommy on the ground like a beached whale and Phillip Schofield flicked in ultra slow motion straight down the middle. 1-0 This came as a wake up and with a few tweaks south started to exploit the width with endless running from Sam, Dan, Finn and of course the haribo twins. This tweaks allowed south to press higher which paid off with a turnover in the D which TC slotted passed the on rushing keeper. However loughborough once again caught south and ended up with a flick down to Mr honey anchoring his cruise ships on the line. As this was awarded phillip schofield tried to sub himself back on to take with the aid of his screeching wife. When this wasn’t allowed they both tried to educate the umpires on how it should of been allowed. Meanwhile Tommy told the lad to put it on his favorite side and guess what he did. Half time came seeing phillip schofield getting a green for again trying to further educate the umpires. Scores level. The half time team talk was very simple, make 50/50 ours and start passing to a red shirt. Once again the game started like a game of hot potato with neither team being able to get on top. 1-2, 2-2,2-3 then the main turning point (DOD award) of the game was south being awarded a short which in the frustration TC hit the ball towards the goal catching a child and unfortunately/ totally accidentally saw him receive a 10 min yellow from the umpire. In this period loughborough scored two counter attack goals and a miss of the season too. With 5 mins to go south got back to full strength and gave it a real go but is was all too late.
