Match Report | South Nottingham 2’s vs Notts Trent uni 4’s On a surprisingly chilly day at Bingham, South 2s were expecting a tough game against top of the table uni. With a scratch team, the duo of Mr’s Ben and Brian marshalled our collection of animated students into a red wall. Not a wall you'd use as a dam, more of a colander really, but time would tell its effectiveness. The first half saw wave on wave of attackingstude failing to convert. The south strength held firm across the pitch and could have easily gone in front but alas, 0-0 at half time. Captain gave a rousing speech during the interval and spoke of keeping the same level of work rate displayed in the first half and there could be a result in it for us. The expected onslaught came and still no goal, the south defenders held on to all short comers. With 20 minutes left the belief grew and the shouts got louder, led by the skipper's encouragement. At this stage, South actually had a strong session of attacking play, the students pinned in and our very out Alex Cavan could've easily put us one up. Eventually the relentless hard work and stubbornness displayed by boys at South came away with a very well deserved point. Every one of the boys today was incredible and I am extremely proud, especially of the young lads who worked their socks off and stood up to the students. These are the games you'll all learn something from, and there's no substitute for hard work. No MoM this week - it's impossible so let's have a run down. Tommy - like a rock |
