Local Derby ends with away win.
An “experienced” South squad travelled to Newark to play a youthful and enthusiastic opposition. Starting quickly, Newark won a penalty corner and a great routine put them ahead. Despite having the legs on an older South team, experience started to show with a great move ending with Craig B assist to Elliot’s goal. Grozzy and Elliot then took turns to increase the score to 1-4 by halftime in their best chuckle brothers style. The second half showed the Brydon brothers hockey nouse as they continually picked the youngsters and built attacks through the hardworking midfield of Sam, Owain and Craig L/B. Cometh the hour, cometh the Batty two goals in quick order, the second a brutal “top bins” unstoppable! Classic Gary P completed the 1-7 victory with a sumptuous reverse. Thanks to James F for stepping up in goals and well done to Newark 3s, the future looks bright with some exceptional youngsters coming through!
