3’s Vs Derby 3’s match report from Brainz:

With a full complement of players, South started out of the blocks with some assured passing looking to set the pace and it paid dividends as Grozzy opened his account, followed shortly by a deft reverse touch from Ellz that exhibited a conserved quantity of angular spin with enough momentum to carry the ball over the line. Batty hit a barnstormer which split the defence and flew off Grozzy’s reverse into the top of the net. 3-0.

The opposition converted a well worked counter attack to remind us of their threat up front. Young Adam and Tom began a masterclass down the right moving the ball with confidence into Bingo and Harry and out to Sam whose runs down the line set up further chances that were desperately cleared out of the D. Second half was a bit more frantic, Derby were not laying down and enjoyed a period of DOD Brainz aerials to the centre forwards raining down on their sticks from a full 5 metres away. With Mark calling for more shape at the back Batty again stepped up and melted a ball into the path of Ellz who clinically scored and once again straight after following some tricky stick work from Cotters. Derby had one last attack with a well taken counter to complete the score at 5-2.  Special mention to James B for running the bench, umpires and a vocal home support.
