After a disappointing score line against the 5th’s the week before, it was a tall order to take on Mansfield 4th’s. Quick on their attack & using good skills & finding space, South were soon under pressure. A number of short corners against South led to 0-3 at halftime despite Simons efforts , Tony’s clearances & Graham M’s heroics. 2nd half worked so much better South releasing the ball before some physical tackling. Cole was able to work further up the pitch, Adam B holding the ball before some good distribution. Stan found space & South were awarded a number of shorts, from which Ken came close striking it just wide.
A well played attack by Mansfield on the break sealed a 0-4 victory for them but a much improved performance in the second half- good marking by Greg ,Graham J & Norman, & strong attacking play by James kept South in the game.
