Men's 2nd XI Vs West Bridgford 5

South Notts arrived pitchside to another new team to face. You would think after having such a rivalry, West Bridgford would attempt to at least show up with the same players. 

Umpires called the captains and there was apparently a new captain too as Smithy worked in his single short corner tactic. 

First half began and the captain found himself one on one with the keeper. Unaware of his strength, a simple flick over the keeper almost saw itself over the back fence. (Apparently this is a reason for Dod along with sacrificing himself and VC mark to play instead of losing players.. and forgetting Leon off the teamsheet) 

Bit long after, same position, Cav decided to not go for it and squared to Grizzy for a simple finish. 1-0 

A penalty corner not long after saw Cav get a flick low, bottom corner. 2-0 
WB were flustered. Not long after Grozzy found himself in his well known position to finish off a wide shot from Jonesy. 3-0

Half time talk sounded the same as usual, we suck, we should be better. Oh yeah we’re winning! 

Second half WB came with all they had but still found themselves lacking as Tom C found himself in a promising position and beating multiple defenders before nearly finishing it! 4-0 

With Tom C involved again and composed at a long corner saw Alex running top D to his left. Without plying with us before, he must have known this is where he wants it. Reverse finish, bottom left! 5-0 

At this point. Jonesy decided he would go fishing. Particularly for a large bass who highly resembles the likes of the invisible captain Smithy with a comment of “are you sure you guys aren’t Derwent….. well, as you can imagine. This started a bit of a tangle of lines between the two with a Jonesy stopping mid dribble to laugh at his missed tackles! Honestly, a picture. (Hence the title) 

To finish it all off, yet again, Tom C had found himself outside the D and wiggled his way through a bout 25 players (defender coming back for more) and slid one to left post where Grozzy, and for his jug, tapped it in! 

Well done lads!!! 17/17 at promotion on the horizon! ‘Mon South Notts!!
