SNHC Ladies 1s v Boots 3s
The team started well with positive attacking play, however Boots were strong on the counter and the first 20 minutes consisted of end to end play. The first goal came from a break by Emily Georgiades, slipping the ball in to Sarah Morgan who slotted it past the keeper's left foot into the goal. Boots responded less than 5 minutes later with a goal from a short corner, levelling the teams once again. After another strong attack, Boots scored again shortly after. Just before the half time whistle, South won a short corner and some neat one-twos between Rachel Powell and Pippa Billyeald resulted in Rachel putting South back in the lead. With the teams level, a tense few minutes followed after half-time, with the deadlock finally broken by a solid run down the right wing by Rachel Powell, defeating several Boots defenders and eventually crossing the ball to Sarah Morgan who tapped it in to score the winning goal. With fatigue setting in and the umpire informing us that there were still 9 minutes to go (!), South dug deep and managed to keep composure and maintain possession. However, Boots won a short corner in the dying minutes of the game, but defence continued their exceptional form and the shot was dealt with by a clean clearance from Amy Binch, supported by Claire Hartland and Caroline Brackenbury. With that, the final whistle went.
SNHC Ladies 1s now face Beeston 3s in the NWHL Cup Final at Highfields on Sunday 18 March 2012 at 1.30 pm. All supporters welcome.
** Travelling Costs to Away Games **
Due to the rising cost of fuel, the club has agreed with player requests that those players driving to away games may ask anybody given a lift, for a contribution of £2 per player towards their fuel. To request this payment is left to the discretion of the driver, who may ask for payment towards a Nottingham based game, in order to cover other costs associated with a game at a longer distance. All payments of this kind should be paid direct to the driver.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact Chris Pink or Ali Glazebrook, who can be contacted from the Who's Who page.
Men's 2nd XI League v Hampton-in-Arden (Home) 03/12/11
HT 0-0 FT 2 -1
I missed last week's home defeat to local rivals North Notts and was wondering which South team would turn up ~ the one that passes the ball around well and plays with spirit or the one that enjoys watching the opposition play so much it insists on passing the ball to them at every opportunity. Evidently last week we played well until we got inside the opposition 25 so this week we were looking for commitment, effort and hopefully shots on goal taken quickly and confidently. Full Report
Men's 2nd XI EHA Trophy v Stafford (H) 16/10/11

Following on from a dominant 5 - 1 win over Coalville on Saturday the 2s went into this game full of confidence. Eleven of the unprecedented squad of 15 had played the previous day and we were bolstered by the return of Brian Blackmore and Chris Pink, Rob Jenkins and Gaz Bland from the 1s squad. Stafford from West Midlands 1 also won the previous day (2-1 away to Stone) and came into the game in a bouyant mood. Full Report
